Crom’s Commentary: Joe Biden’s Policies and COVID Mandates Head Down the Toilet

Live from Music Row Wednesday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio for Crom’s Commentary in which he analyzes the declining popularity of Joe Biden administration’s and the Democratic Party’s response to COVID mandates and policies.

Leahy: We are joined by the original all-star panelist, Crom Carmichael. Crom, good morning.

Carmichael: Michael. Good morning sir.

Leahy: Crom, I made it to Washington, D.C. I got on that flight. It wasn’t canceled. Now, the question is, will I be able to make it back home so I can be in the studio tomorrow?

Carmichael: What is interesting is that what I believe is happening at Southwest will happen with other airlines. But Southwest, I think what some of the pilots have done is they have just called in sick.

Leahy: Yeah, I think you’re right.  We are starting off at 6:30, right when you come in. We have Grants rants every Tuesday. (Carmichael laughs) We may expand it probably Tuesday and Thursday. So you’ve got some competition in the commentary field here.

Yes, Every Kid

But every day when you come in now at 6:30 after we welcome you, it’s time for Crom’s Commentary. Crom, what do you have for us this morning?

Carmichael: Michael, as I was driving into the show this morning I was thinking about what we are witnessing is the complete and utter implosion of a presidential administration.

I can’t point to a single thing that is good about what he’s doing. The latest news that I have come across is that some of the Pfizer scientists who are involved in the creation of the vaccine admitted on secret audiotapes that natural immunity is likely better than the COVID-19 vaccine.

And yet you still have the Biden administration that is steadfast in saying that even if you have natural immunity, you must have the vaccine. And I believe that there are somewhere between 60 and 80 million people who have already had COVID and who have natural immunity.

And this reminds me a lot of how the left has tried to treat gun owners.  So if you look at the polls, the polls might show that a majority of people are in favor of mandating the vaccine, but they don’t feel nearly as strongly about that position as the people who oppose the mandate.

And so the people who oppose the mandate for them, it is a single issue for the people who say that they support the mandates it might be number 20 on their list.

And so what Biden is doing is he’s taking a whole bunch of people who otherwise might have supported him and the Democrat Party because the Democrat Party is going to be blamed for the mandate by the people who have natural immunity and think that taking the vaccine can actually harm their health.

And think about that for a second. Now I had the vaccine. I don’t believe that I’ve ever had COVID. I might have, but I don’t believe I have. And so I did the vaccine. I’m not an anti-vaxxer.

But I do recognize some people have very valid reasons for not taking the vaccine. And you have a government that is determined to force people to do things against their will and now actually even against science.

So the only area where Biden had 50 percent support was his handling of COVID. Now what you’re seeing are Southwest Airlines pilots who refused to have the vaccine calling in sick.

This reminds me of teachers who called in sick in various school districts and the left applauded the teachers who called in sick, saying that that’s civil disobedience.

Well, now what happens if the other airlines have pilots who call in sick? And all of a sudden our logistics and our supply chain gets even worse than it is right now.

And suppose passengers who book travel to be with family on Thanksgiving and the holidays now can’t make the trip or get there and then can’t get out. There was a report of some ladies who were stuck here in Nashville.

They actually had to sleep in the lobby of a hotel because all the hotel rooms were sold out. And so they said that the hotel rooms were $1,000. a night. Southwest had given a voucher worth $100.

And these are the types of things that people remember, and they also tell their friends, and that has an effect. And so my guess is that in addition to Biden being judged poorly and rightly so on the economy, on crime, on border security, and on international relations.

He’s now down in the toilet on all of those. He will soon be joined in the toilet and his COVID policies will be flushed down the ground.

Leahy: (Laughs) Now, that is a colorful metaphor with which to end Crom’s Commentary. (Carmichael bellows)
