Crom’s Crommentary: When a Party Is Desperate for Power and What They Are Willing to Do to Retain It

Live from Music Row, Friday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – guest host Aaron Gulbransen welcomed original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio for another edition of Crom’s Crommentary.

CROM CARMICHAEL:

This January 6th thing last night, I flipped around and watched tiny bits of it. What is astounding to me is that all of the networks agreed to play it. And there’s kind of now a club that you must be in and you must be an elitist white leftist.

And then the black people are just being abused and used in this whole process. And here’s what’s interesting to me. Congress’s rating among the American people. Their trustworthiness is under 20 percent. Of institutions, aren’t they the most distrusted institution in the country? What is the second most distrusted?

Isn’t it the media? So here you have the first most distrusted institution going together with the second most distrusted institution, trying to persuade the American people that something that is false is really true.

And my sense of it is this is going to backfire. The head of the committee, Thompson, goes back and talks about the days of lynching. Well, the Democrat Party was the party of lynching. The Democrat Party was the party of the Confederacy.

It was the party of the Klu Klux Klan. The Klu Klux Klan was to the Democrat Party after Reconstruction what Antifa and Black Lives Matter is to the Democrat Party today. It was the military arm of the Democrat Party.

And it is absolutely astounding to watch Thompson evoke the days of his own party’s repression of Black people to say how terrible it is. Now then you have Joy Behar who made one of the most profound statements.

She says a lot of things that you scratch your head and say, what a stupid person. But she said something the other day that goes so far beyond stupid. And there are black people on that show.

Joy Behar said we’re not going to have gun control until black people start buying guns. Now there are a lot of black people who own guns. And the two major Supreme Court decisions in modern times on the right to bear arms were filed by black people who wanted to have the right to protect themselves in cities that had over-the-top gun control laws and the criminals controlled the streets.

The percentage of black people who are buying guns today is much higher than the percentage of white people who are buying guns today. And so Joey Behar, she is the most witless person.

Well, I take that back. There are so many witless people on TV. Jimmy Kimmel is another completely witless person. But in all of these cases, the one thing that we can say is they’re all grossly overpaid for their intellect.

So they are being paid to say and do what they say. But Whoopi Goldberg sat there while Joey Behar essentially just savaged the black race by talking about how dumb they are and that black people haven’t even figured out that owning a gun can give you self-protection.

And then you have Thompson with his statements trying to evoke slavery into today’s politics as if there are people who are persuadable by these just incredibly air-headed arguments. And then you have the spectacle of the FBI arresting the leading gubernatorial candidate in Michigan.

And so you’re beginning to see where it leads when a party is desperate for power and desperate for the money that comes from the power and what steps they are willing to take in order to try to retain it. And it’s just absolutely shocking.
