Democratic Presidential Candidate Mike Bloomberg Tells Nashville Crowd He’ll Raise Taxes and Crush the NRA

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg delivered a litany of talking points that included tax hikes and gun control during a campaign appearance in Nashville Thursday. He also said he’s not afraid of fellow Empire State billionaire President Donald Trump.

Instead, Bloomberg went on to say, Trump is afraid of him.

Bloomberg spoke to a large audience at Nashville’s Rocketown venue to explain why he believes he is the man to beat Trump.

Bloomberg promised that, if elected, he will have a sparring match with the National Rifle Association.

Bloomberg said he will implement more government initiatives to take on climate change. The billionaire also promised to raise taxes.

“I’ll raise the estate tax to generate some of the revenue we need to start fighting income inequality in this country,” the former New York City mayor told the audience.

Bloomberg went on to call Trump “the world’s biggest schoolyard bully with no respect for civility, decency, and facts or honesty.”

“This is a national emergency, and if we have four more years of the current occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue I don’t know how we are going to recover. The stakes couldn’t be higher,” he said.

“We just have to find a way to defeat Donald Trump by appealing to the broadest coalition possible of Americans of all backgrounds and all parties to stand shoulder-to-shoulder. The way to defeat Trump is with workable, sensible solutions to our biggest challenges.”

Bloomberg appeared in Chattanooga earlier in the day.

While there, according to Politico.com, Bloomberg addressed his past stop-and-frisk policies and past blaming of minorities for inner-city-crime, saying those actions do not reflect “how I led the most diverse city in the nation.”

“Those words don’t reflect the way that I’ve governed or the way that I run my company or the way that I live. I’ve led the most diverse city in the country, and the public there re-elected me and reelected me two other times so I think they’re pretty happy,” Bloomberg reportedly said.

More than 1,000 people reportedly showed up for the Chattanooga event.

Bloomberg told his Nashville audience that he has campaigned for president in 60 cities in 25 states since he last campaigned in Nashville in December.

Bloomberg said he will next travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Bloomberg is going NOWHERE! with a statement like that. Yes he will no doubt boost the economy with the millions he is throwing around ,but NO ONE wants their taxes raised we already taxed to death. If they continue with this gun thing there is going to be another civil war which is why the Constitution has the 2nd amendment to begin with.To overthrow a corrupt government.

  3. Scott Herskovitz

I can see a civil war coming. No person or group of people will just lay down and give up their guns to this insane individual. We as a people will stand and fight. I guess he as a Jew never studied the holocaust or cares that thousands of his own people lost their lives due to the very things he’s looking to take away from the people of this great country. Let’s send him message that his type of tyranny will not be tolerated or accepted by the law abiding people of this nation.

  4. Scott Herskovitz

All his money will not disarm the citizens of this country. There will be a civil war and I don’t know of any person or group of people that will stand by and allow it to happen. He’s a disgrace. I guess he never studied the holocaust and how many Jews died cause hitler stripped them of their guns and right of self defense. To all gun owners I say: never give up your guns and defend your families! Remember the starts with the ballot box and continues with the cartridge box.

Scott, you’re right about the Holocaust in NAZI Germany:

“Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA – ordinary citizens don’t need guns, as their having guns doesn’t serve the State.”
      — Heinrich Himmler, Chief of NAZI Gestapo

For now, Bloomberg is basically there since he says we should only have guns with a three round capacity since they’re only for the common peasants to hunt. No, no self defense guns for us like his private armed security or government agents who carry full-auto “weapons of war”.

I think the quote is correct for guys like Bloomberg that “we learn from history that we learn nothing from history.” –Hegel

Flies around in private jets ,Has Chauffeured SUVS ,Has armed security .Is about as entitled as they come .Want to tax even the poor while he has Billions . Its called Hypocrisy

    1. Ron Welch

      Allan, great point!

As with other leftist authoritarians, they EXEMPT THEMSELVES from laws they promote against us. Their “no one is above the law” mantra is a joke. This short video clip demonstrates, which I’m surprised YouTube hasn’t CENSORED:

  6. Jerry

I am not sure I have ever saw a more holier than though person in my life. His reasoning of taxing the poor so they will not “waist” their money on things that are not good for them is CRAZY! Do we get to decide what habits he has that are not good for him?

    1. Ron Welch

Yep, Jerry, here’s a quote from Bloomberg re: giving money to issues like citizen disarmament (while he has private armed security):

“I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close,” Bloomberg told the New York Times in a wide ranging interview in 2014 in which he explained he has “earned” his place by spending hundreds of millions of dollars on liberal (leftist authoritarian) causes.

  7. John Bloxson

Mike Bloomingbud Bloobergis not a viable Presidentual Candiate he wsnota good mor, and he is even worse when it comes to what he says he will do as President he is amoral and should be pushed out of contention. He has no real purpose and no Idea of what it really takes to be President
Unlike Donald Trump he lacks the tough Skin to handle the dirty Abuse of Enuindo by the DemoCommunist Party of America.

    1. David Berry

This is a sick tyrannical glob of pus! Anyone who would vote for this pile of vomit needs to be exorcised!

  8. rick

Lipless is living proof that just because you have money does not make you intelligent! Quite the contrary in his case,

  9. 83ragtop50

The only positive thing about his campaign is that he is helping Trump’s economy with all of his spending.

  10. juspassinthru

Income inequality……I’d sure like to know how much of Bloomy’s fortune he has given to those that claim income inequality. You don’t make billions by being overly generous to those working for you. His money has/was made on the backs of his employees. He can claim that he will pay more taxes under his tax program which he probably will pay in terms of actual dollars but in terms of “percentage” of wealth, not in this lifetime.
I paraphrase Winston Churchill “Capitalism is the unequal distribution of wealth, Socialism is the equal distribution of poverty”. Bloomy wants the latter of Sir Winston Churchill’s quote for us “peons”. Bloomy thinks he can spend YOUR money better than you can. Clown!

  11. Beatrice Shaw

This is the best candidate after Elizabeth Warren. Mike! will win in 2020 and we will all be the better for it. He knows how hard it is for working people to get an education and healthcare.

    1. P. Graham

When he talks of raising my taxes and take inheritance I leave for my family, he is an ass.
He can spread his around all he likes. Please tell me how it’s fair that he taxes my death to give to others. Only my beneficiaries have a right to whatever I leave. This is personal and none of government’s business.

    2. Brent Globus

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Thank you for the best laugh of the day!

    3. Jane McKee

You’re kidding, right? Are you old enough to remember the Soviet Union and people risking their lives to escape socialist East Germany? I do! I will fight communism till my last breath! Anyone who will give up freedom for govt cradle to grave “security” deserves neither and will LOSE BOTH (Benjamin Franklin quote)! And no, I’m neither Democrat nor Republican. I’m an independent that believes in freedom. Every American needs to read this short mid 1800s book, “The Law” by Frederic Bastiat. It’s in the public domain and can be found free online. It explains what real justice is and why socialism is so destructive. Why would anyone want to put the power of taking your money to redistribute when you don’t even know who they will give it to? Do they really know better than you what to do with your money? Are they made of a finer clay than the rest of us? Be careful what you wish for.

    4. Jerry A

Have you lost your mind? He’s 2 faced and thinks he can spend YOUR money better than YOU can!

  12. Ron Welch

He’s a hypocritical coward on the right of armed self defense as seen here when he was Mayor of NYC:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RCC-rEx81PE

Did anyone ask him if his private armed security would be abiding by the anti-gun laws he would impose on us?? Like in the video, he would duck, fridge and hide.

As with other laws, the politicians EXEMPT THEMSELVES and their elite, wealthy friends. And here lately, THEY SAY, they are “protecting the Constitution”, “the rule of law” and “no one is above the law” as they are in VIOLATION of “the equal protection of the laws” (14th Amendment)). And then they talk about our founders. Well good, then here’s what the chief wordsmith of the Constitution said:

“Congress can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society.”
    — James Madison, The Federalist Papers, No. 57.

But Bloomberg, like others, wants to have and keep for himself what he wou,d take from us. It’s what slave masters and tyrants have always done–and still do.

  13. Frank List

This is the inevitable result of a party so weak and unfocused that they can’t field an electable candidate by conventional means.

Their front runners appeal only to a disparate / desperate gaggle of fringes: militant gays, stupid kids who don’t understand what “socialism” means, people who live on OPM ( Other People’s Money ), and fake Indians and Valor Thieves.

We will see even more lunacy from the left in the next 250 days as their Doom comes inexorably nearer: Hillary and Michelle will emerge from their dens and we will endure an alarming call for the party to draft those two dangerous loonies to the ticket.

I’m curious: I didn’t see a number of attendees to Bloomer’s Dog- and Pony-droppings Show… and were they STUPID enough to applaud Lord Farquad’s promise to DISARM them and TAX them, or they delusional enough to think his threats don’t pertain to THEM?

And has there EVER been a politician vow to remove guns from CRIMINALS’ hands, or are they all just gonna take the weapons of the law-abiding?

  14. William R. Delzell

I hope that liberals and leftists in Tennessee won’t fall for Bloomberg. Those tapes of him speaking in 2015 at the Aspen Institute where he spouted off misandrist (sexist anti-male) and Afro/Hispanic-phobic (racist) remarks which he attempted unsuccessfully to suppress will be sufficiently damning against him in Tennessee with the state’s Democrat base.

    1. allan

Tennesee would never vote for any of the democrats running at this moment .

First things first, was that the best “crowd” that Mini Mike could muster? Trump would have had 10X the people inside and another 25X out!

Second, did all of the participants check their 16 ounce soft drinks at the door? Remember, Mayor Mini Mike didn’t allow large soft drinks in NYC!

He’s is a pathological liar and classic sociopath. He’s willing to say whatever he thinks will get him what he wants! Just look at how his on-line ads have been morphing to say what he thinks people want to hear. But, with all that money and such a twisted ideology, the guy is dangerous!
