Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs criticized his Democrat opponent’s declaration that opponents of abortion are “a morally deficient minority” on abortion.
“Democrats used to say that abortion should be safe, legal, and rare. My opponent says that abortion is popular and if you don’t see it that way, you are apparently among a morally deficient minority. You’d expect this kind of unhinged rhetoric from someone running for mayor of San Francisco or Chicago, but not Knox County, Tennessee,” Jacobs said on Tuesday.
In a tweet posted on Monday, Jacobs’ Democrat opponent in the August 4 race for Knox County mayor, Debbie Helsley, said, “Abortion is popular. Gun reform is popular. Clean air is popular. Democracy is popular. Do not confuse the decisions of SCOTUS for a fault of the American people. They are taking advantage of defects in our institutions to advance the views of a morally deficient minority.”

In addition to the sitting mayor of Knox County’s reaction, the vast majority of the replies to Helsley’s tweet were critical.
Chris Loesch, who based on his bio is the husband of former NRA spokesman Dana Loesch, pointed out how her tweet treats U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Chris Loesch stated that he believed Helsley’s comments were racist.
“Hey @DebbieForMayor, looks like you are calling Justice Clarence Thomas a ‘defect in our system’ and ‘a morally deficient minority.’ How disgusting of you. I hope everyone in Knox County calls you out on your blatant racism and disdain for our American political process,” he said.

Another reply said, “Being popular can also be undermined by a determined few. Being popular and lawful can also be rendered illegal by a determined minority.”
One more said, “They’re not morally deficient. You are. Don’t murder babies, Debbie.”
Yet another tweet reply said, “You have it backward. Condoning the murder of an unborn child is morally deficient.”
Knox County’s general elections for local offices on August 4 additionally coincide with federal and state primary elections.

Democrats don’t even make the argument that abortion is murder anymore. They KNOW that- they just do not care. So, if opposing abortion constitutes moral deficiency – I’ll be morally deficient. Debbie , whoever you are , you’re cuckoo, how about that?
AMEN!
a baby killer calling opponents morally deficient?
sounds like projection to me.
ghouls
see how that plays at the polls, demon.
