Ohio Secretary of State Readies Voters, Officials for Busy Election Day

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose is making one last push to inform Ohioans of important voter information prior to their final opportunity to cast a ballot.

The Ohio secretary of state’s office indicates that there is only one official source for Ohio election information, which is voteohio.gov. To ensure all voters have the correct information ahead of Election Day, LaRose urges voters to only utilize voteohio.gov as an official resource for vital and accurate election information including finding a polling location, voter ID requirements, sample ballots, absentee ballot tracking, support for voters with disabilities, and election results.

“Around election season, private organizations often encourage voters to participate in the election. These groups usually have honest motives but sometimes provide inaccurate information,” LaRose said.

LaRose also urges Ohio voters to treat election workers with respect when going to the polls.

“Ohio has more than 40,000 poll workers who contribute their time on Election Day out of civic pride and an appreciation for our democracy. Please treat them respectfully and know each one is doing their best to run an efficient election and provide voters with a positive experience on election day,” LaRose said.

According to the Ohio secretary of state’s office, Ohio differs from the other 49 U.S. states by requiring its 88 county boards of elections to be managed with bipartisan oversight. LaRose says that this check and balance on the administration of Ohio elections is designed to give voters confidence in the accuracy and integrity of the electoral process.

LaRose also encourages Ohioans to inform his office if any problems or concerns arise on Election Day.

“If you see something, say something. Our office, along with every county board of elections, works hard to provide an accurate, accessible, and secure election,” LaRose said.

Voters who experience a problem on Election Day, have concerns about election misinformation/disinformation, or have general questions about the election process can send an e-mail to [email protected] or call 877-SOS-Ohio. LaRose encourages voters to provide as much information as possible, including name, contact information, and the applicable county for the Ohio secretary of state’s review. Voters interested in Ohio’s election security protocols can visit publicintegrity.ohiosos.gov.

“The decisions that are made on a Tuesday night in November impact the most powerful nation in the world — with who we are going to send to represent us in the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. Impact our great state of Ohio with what kind of leadership we are going to have. Impact your local community,” LaRose urged during a visit to the Mahoning Valley Republican Headquarters, as reported by WKBN 27.
