Tennessee Nonprofit Tapped by ICE to Release Thousands of Illegal Immigrants Received over $800,000 in Government Grants

Tax documents reveal the nonprofit contacted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to facilitate the transportation and release of thousands of illegal immigrants from detention facilities in Louisiana to Tennessee in 2022 received more than $800,000 of its funding from government sources that year.

Documents released last week by Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti reveal the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Resettlement Coalition (TIRRC) was central to ICE’s plan to release thousands of illegal immigrants in the Volunteer State.

“We know that in Tennessee, we have the most secure elections in the country and our Secretary of State, Tre Hargett, gets a lot of credit for that. I know Tennesseans are confident they can show up, cast their vote, and that vote’s going to be counted,” Blackburn said.

Republicans Warn of Long Election Day Lines as Maricopa County Says Results Will Be Delayed

As Republicans warn of long lines on Election Day in Maricopa County, Ariz., local election officials also expect election results to be delayed. Republicans in both Arizona and on the national level are claiming that Maricopa County has not sufficiently prepared for Election Day, which may result in long lines and persuading eligible voters to avoid voting. 

The possible Election Day issues are in addition to the announcement by Maricopa County election officials that it will take 10-13 days to completely tabulate all ballots, meaning that some races may not be called on election night.

Senate Bill 1034, sponsored by state Sen. Jonathan Lindsey, R-Allen, would require Michiganders to present both proof of identity and proof of residency when signing an affidavit to receive a ballot at polling locations.

One of the largest takeaways from Trump’s unexpected success in 2016 – and the inability of pollsters to accurately predict the support he earned in both 2016 and 2020 – is that Trump has continuously appealed to Americans who are less politically engaged.  

Adding to the issue, is that Americans with lower political engagement are also generally harder to recruit into political surveys to share their opinions. We see this theme repeatedly, with low propensity voters, especially first-time voters, being much more likely to support Trump than highly active voters. At the same time, lower frequency voters are much harder to reach in polls before election day.

Governor Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Miyares on Friday vowed to appeal after a federal judge ordered Virginia to restore about 1,500 noncitizens to the commonwealth’s voter rolls.

U.S. District Judge Patricia Trolliver Giles, an appointee of President Joe Biden, announced her decision after the Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) sued to force Virginia to restore the noncitizen voters, alleging the commonwealth violated the National Voter Registration Act by removing them so close to an election.

Pennsylvania County Claims It Discovered Batch of 2,500 Potentially Fraudulent Voter Registration Applications

Public officials in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on Friday announced the discovery of a batch containing approximately 2,500 voter registration applications that includes as many as 1,500 forms submitted with false information or without the consent of the applicant.

Ray D’Agostino, the Vice-Chairman of the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners and Chairman of Lancaster County Board of Elections, said election workers discovered discrepancies including identical handwriting, signatures that do not match those on file with the county, duplicate registrations, false addresses, or fake driver’s license and social security numbers.

Ohio Judge Strikes Down State’s Six-Week Abortion Ban

A county judge in Ohio ruled Thursday that the state’s six-week abortion ban is unconstitutional, permanently blocking the law from taking effect.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Biden-Harris administration released 10 illegal immigrants from Iran over a six-month period in just its New Orleans Area of Responsibility, according to data reported by the agency’s Enforcement and Removal Operations – Law Enforcement Systems and Analysis unit, and released this week by the Tennessee Attorney General.

The documents reveal ten citizens of Iran were paroled into the United States after being transferred to ICE’s New Orleans Area of Responsibility between August 2022 and January 2023, with the last release of an Iranian national from ICE facilities included within the report recorded on February 24, 2023.

GOP Lawmakers Demand Answers from Biden-Harris Admin on ‘Botched’ Rollout of Huge Jobs Revision

Republican lawmakers wrote to Department of Labor (DOL) Acting Secretary Julie Su on Friday, slamming the agency for ignoring an oversight request regarding its “botched release” of data that showed the Biden-Harris administration had wildly overestimated job creation.

The August Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) release  — which revealed the U.S. economy had created more than 800,000 fewer jobs in the twelve months through March than the administration had claimed — was posted roughly a half hour late, with a slew of Wall Street investment firms obtaining details about the report at least 15 minutes before the public. Republican Reps. Virginia Foxx of North Carolina and Bob Good of Virginia issued an oversight request following the incident, which the DOL then failed to respond to, prompting the lawmakers to re-up their inquiry into whether or not the BLS favored Wall Street insiders over the American public, according to the letter obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Report: College Enrollments on the Decline as Americans Reject Higher Education

The rate of freshman enrollment at colleges across the country, from private to public, has dropped to the lowest levels since before the Chinese Coronavirus pandemic.

Early voting in Wisconsin has been delayed due to label printing problems, causing voters to wait hours in line to vote in some cases.

The state began early voting on Tuesday, with voters waiting up to three hours to cast ballots in West Bend, a city 40 miles northwest of Milwaukee with a population of about 32,000, The Washington Post reported. After state election officials said late Tuesday that the computer issues causing the label printing problems were resolved, they acknowledged on Wednesday that they had occurred again. Voters waited about 90 minutes to vote on Wednesday.

The women were silenced and marginalized, while Thomas’s “bravery” was applauded in the media, and UPenn leaders patted themselves on the back for being so progressive and inclusive.

The Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) created a database tracking the sexual orientation, transgender identity and pronouns of children that interacted with the child welfare system in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, featuring entries dated from March 2018 to the most recent entry on August 2024. The spreadsheet was part of their ‘Safe Identification’ program, which teaches social services staff how to collect information about the sexuality and gender identity of children.
