President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning named Bill Pulte as the acting director of national intelligence, replacing Tulsi Gabbard.

“William has deep experience managing the most sensitive matters in America, the safety and soundness of the Markets, and over 10 Trillion Dollars at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, a substantial increase from where it was just 12 months ago,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Pulte (pictured above) also leads the Federal Housing Finance Agency. According to his bio page on the federal government website, Pulte started Pulte Capital Partners LLC in 2011, a real estate investing firm. Furthermore, he served on the board of one of America’s biggest homebuilding companies, Pulte Homes.

Trump said Pulte will remain in his current position.

Gabbard announced last month that she would resign from the role effective June 30, according to CNBC.
