Georgia U.S. Senate Candidate Herschel Walker Calls on Biden to Fire Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen amid Historic Inflation

Georgia U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker blasted President Joe Biden, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock for historic levels of inflation that are crushing American citizens.

Walker, who received the GOP nomination last month, called on Biden to fire Yellen for previously claiming that inflation would be temporary and not pose a severe risk to the economy.

However, in recent interviews, she has walked back her statements, admitting she was wrong about her projections.

“Inflation is out of control and the U.S. economy is in free-fall: it’s time to fire Janet Yellen,” Walker said in a statement provided to Breitbart News. “We have to restore accountability and integrity to Washington. In the business world, if you don’t do your job – you get let go. Raphael Warnock stood beside Joe Biden to confirm Secretary Yellen — and is still standing beside her now. She has failed the American taxpayers and needs to be held accountable. It’s time for her to go and today I ask Raphael Warnock one simple question – with the worst inflation in 40 years, do you agree that it’s time to fire Janet Yellen?”

In a separate tweet, Walker attacked Warnock for his support of Yellen, as he voted to confirm her to the position after assuming his Senate seat.

“Senator Warnock should have never voted to confirm Treasury Secretary Yellen. His poor decision making is making your gas, groceries, and everything else more expensive!” Walker said.

The former star football player has routinely connected Warnock to the high prices of gas and other consumer goods, as Warnock has voted to pass Biden’s high spending packages.

In fact, the average price for a gallon of gas is $4.493 – a new record for the state. Furthermore, the record prices come despite the fact Republican Governor Brian Kemp approved a plan to suspend the state’s gas tax, which would have made prices even higher.
