State Representative Walter Blackman (R-Phoenix) spoke at a press conference yesterday held by Lori Zee Gray, slamming the abortion industry for targeting the black community.
“By the end of World War II, six million Jews were exterminated,” Blackman said. “From the time of Roe v. Wade in 1937, 20 million black lives have been killed – 20 million. But we have not acknowledged that as an extermination. We have not acknowledged that as eugenics. We have not acknowledged that as a mass slaughter on a population.”
During his speech, Blackman acknowledged a 1939 letter written by Margaret Sanger to explain how the abortion industry targets African Americans. Sanger wrote the letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, an American businessman, about his hesitation to hire a full-time black physician.
Sanger wrote:
It seems to be from my experience that while the colored Negroes have great respect for white doctors, they can get closer to their own members and more or less lay their cards on the table, which means their ignorance, superstitions, and doubts.”
The minister’s work is also important and also he should be trained, perhaps by the Federation, as to our ideals and the goal that we hope to reach. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.
Blackman said, “It is no accident that this [extermination] has happened to the black community. This is not by accident; this is by design that the black community is being snuffed out. Regardless of what political ideology you are behind, Democrat, Independent, Liberal, what have you, if you are a black American living in this country, as a result of Margret Sanger, Planned Parenthood, the 1,300 abortions that happen every single day, we are being snuffed out.”
An earlier House Floor Session read aloud a legislative proclamation from Blackman and State Rep. Shawnna Bolick (R-Phoenix). According to an Arizona House press release, the proclamation declared that June 7th, 2022 be recognized as Equal Opportunity for Life on Behalf of Black Unborn Babies Day.
The press release also shared the reasons behind the proclamation.
“Whereas, we focus upon and emphasize this Equality Proclamation on behalf of black women and children in America because of the abortion industry’s disproportionate and discriminatory targeting of black women and children,” according to the release. “Whereas, in the 47 years since Roe was decided, 3D and 4D ultrasound now shows the perfectly formed tiny hands and body of human children in utero, the detail of expression on their faces, and has captured the images of these children frantically trying in vain to evade surgical instruments in the process of being aborted.”
The Arizona House Republicans tweeted a response to the proclamation from Blackman and Bolick.
Following the reading of his proclamation, @AZHouseGOP State Representative Walt @BlackmanForAZ spoke on the House floor about the abortion industry’s disproportionate and discriminatory targeting of black women and children.
