MyPillow founder Mike Lindell is privately funding a hand recount and audit of Minnesota’s Republican gubernatorial primary, which he lost by roughly 11 percentage points.
Lindell in a statement Wednesday cited multiple “irregularities” that he said were caught by his team during election night — including what were described as vote totals that moved backward during the reporting, unusual synchronized vote totals across all seven Republican candidates and counties reporting more votes than were cast — as the reasoning behind the audit.
He added the recount will include “designated observers stationed throughout the hand-counting process.”
