Following the record-breaking success of the GlockStore’s 6th Annual Open House, the company’s founder and CEO, Lenny Magill, said plans are already underway to make next year’s event even larger after an estimated 2,000 Second Amendment supporters traveled from across the country to attend the Nashville gathering.
Appearing on The Michael Patrick Leahy Show on Monday, Magill revealed that attendance far exceeded initial estimates.
“The final tally was about 2,000 people,” Magill said. “We gave away about 1,500 raffle tickets, and then a lot of people didn’t take tickets. A lot of people came in pairs and only got one. So we figure there were about 2,000 people who came through. That was pretty spectacular. It was a great event.”
The turnout significantly surpassed previous attendance figures and drew visitors from across the U.S., reinforcing what Magill described as the annual event’s growing national appeal.
As attendance continues to increase, Magill said the GlockStore is preparing major logistical upgrades for next year’s Open House.
“We are bursting at the seams as far as being inside the facility,” Magill said. “So we’re gonna do the big circus tent out front in the parking lot. So rain or shine, we’ll be there. But we’re gonna do a bigger tent and more seating and more and better, should I say sound so that everybody can hear the raffle tickets being called off and all the other things that are happening.”
“It’s just getting to be a huge event, so we’re super excited and super proud and super, just humbled by the response we’ve got from all the people, like I said, driving from everywhere to come in and see us. It’s been fantastic,” he added.
Magill noted that both attendees and vendors are already asking about next year’s event.
“We gave away over $50,000. I think it was, like, $60,000 worth of stuff by the time it was all said and done,” Magill said. “People really responded well, and they’re asking about next year. ‘Hey, when are you gonna do it again?'”
The discussion also turned to recent efforts in some states to restrict certain firearms. Magill criticized legislation targeting Glock handguns, including measures recently enacted in California and Maryland.
“California, for whatever reason, even though all the law enforcement people use the Glock, they said, ‘Hey, the civilians can’t have ’em anymore because we think they’re dangerous.’ Which is crazy,” Magill said.
The GlockStore relocated its headquarters from California to Tennessee in 2020 and has since expanded its presence in Nashville.
Beyond the business’ commercial aspects, Magill described the GlockStore as an advocate for Second Amendment rights and constitutional education.
“We are not only just a gun shop that sells stuff through the internet all around the country, but we are a true beacon of the Second Amendment,” Magill said.
“I’m a believer that firearms are important to maintain our sovereignty, not only with the foreign countries, the evil foreign countries and all that, but also with the government. We need to be able to keep the government in check,” he stressed.
Magill argued that future Open House events could feature expanded educational programming focused on constitutional rights and legal developments affecting gun owners.
“We’d like to improve, or should I say expand the speakers there, and really make it more about the Second Amendment and let people know what their rights are and why these rights are there,” Magill said.
“The Second Amendment was never about hunting. People say, ‘Oh, it’s a hunting thing.’ No, it was about keeping the government in check,” he added.
Magill also expressed optimism about the continued growth of the annual gathering.
“We’re gonna set a date for next year, and we’ll let everybody know what that is soon,” he said. “And we are looking forward to having you there again and making this thing bigger and better than ever before. And it’ll be the seventh annual.”
