U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is the subject of a new 40-page educational coloring book highlighting her life, career, and path to becoming the first woman elected to represent the Volunteer State in the U.S. Senate.
Really Big Coloring Books, Inc. announced Sunday the release of Marsha Blackburn: An American Success Story, describing the publication as a “fact-based, nonpartisan account of Blackburn’s personal and professional milestones” designed for “school-age readers, teens, families, educators, libraries, and history enthusiasts.”
The book features black-and-white illustrations, activities, and biographical storytelling that follows Blackburn from her childhood in Laurel, Mississippi, through her education at Mississippi State University and early business career, before detailing her entry into Tennessee politics and eventual service in Congress.
The publisher called the book an “official unauthorized biography,” noting that Blackburn and her staff were not contacted during its writing or design. The company said the publication was independently produced using publicly available historical sources, government records, and other materials.
According to the publisher, the book focuses on themes including “leadership, perseverance, education, entrepreneurship, and public service.” It also includes scenes intended to support lessons about “Tennessee history, women in public leadership, elections, government, and civic participation.”
Blackburn began her political career in the Tennessee Senate before winning election to the U.S. House in 2002. She represented Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District from 2003 through 2019.
In 2018, Blackburn defeated former Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen to become the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate from Tennessee. She won reelection in 2024 and is now the state’s senior U.S. senator.
Blackburn is also the Republican nominee for Tennessee governor following her victory in the August 6 primary. She defeated U.S. Representative John Rose (R-TN-06) and State Representative Monty Fritts (R-Kingston), winning about 43.5 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results.
The new coloring book is currently listed for $9.87 through coloringbook.com.
“This coloring book, designed as a story book with interactive features, is an engaging educational resource for classrooms, homeschool programs, libraries, and families exploring American history, historic women leaders, and civics,” Wayne Bell, publisher and the book’s creator, said in a statement. “The goal is to make an important public-service story approachable for young readers while encouraging discussion, creativity, and learning. Based on our non-partisan research, Marsha understands goals, commitment, and how to lead by example.”
