Bill Hagerty Commemorates One Year Since Donald Trump’s Endorsement Tweet

U.S. Senate candidate Bill Hagerty on Sunday released a video commemorating his past year on the campaign trail.

Hagerty, in a press release he published on his campaign website, said it was the one-year anniversary of U.S. President Donald Trump endorsing him.

“Over the last year, I’ve been blessed to travel all across our great state and meet with many of my fellow Tennesseans; it is an incredible honor to stand before you and ask for your support,” Hagerty said.

“The America we love is under attack – even more so than it was just a year ago – and now more than ever, President Trump needs a trusted, conservative ally in the Senate. As I have promised the good people of Tennessee since President Trump endorsed me, I will always fight for us, and I’ll continue to work alongside President Trump to hold China accountable, rebuild our economy, support our law enforcement officers, and stop the angry liberal mob.”

Campaign spokeswoman Abigail Sigler said in the press release that Hagerty is the only candidate who has worked closely with Trump.

“Team Hagerty’s momentum continues to grow stronger every day, and with early voting beginning in just five days, we’re not taking our foot off the gas,” Sigler said.

As The Tennessee Star reported this month, Trump took to Twitter and reiterated that he supported Hagerty.

Trump tweeted the following at the time:

“My friend, @BillHagertyTN, will be a phenomenal Senator for Tennessee! He did an incredible job for our country as Ambassador to Japan. Strong on the Economy, Trade and the Wall, Bill stands Tall for Law & Order. He has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

And Hagerty replied on his own Twitter and Facebook accounts:

“Thank you, President Donald J. Trump! I am humbled by the President’s support. Tennesseans stand with you, and in the Senate, I will continue fighting for the America First agenda. #TNSen

Trump endorsed Hagerty one year ago, as The Star reported at the time.

As reported in January, Donald Trump Jr. told a crowd in Gallatin that Hagerty “was on the Trump train before it was politically expedient.” And that, Trump Jr. went on to say, is why his dad endorsed Hagerty so early in the campaign.

“It is safe to say that in a Republican primary today, unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for four or five years, my father’s endorsement is a pretty big deal,” Trump Jr. told the audience.

“I also understand how primary politics works, and it’s not so easy. You never know what really happens. I can’t think of another individual who has been endorsed this early by my father. That’s everything you need to know. My father trusts him. He believes in him, as Bill believed in him when so few actually did.”

Haggerty and his cast of paid, establishment politocrats are scared! All they have is a meaningless, year-old “endorsement” from President Trump. He knows that if he shows up in a head-to-head Q & A or debate with Dr. Manny, Byron Bush or even former Marine Jon Henry, he’s gonna get shellacked! So, he’s having to copy “hidin’ Joe Biden”, keep his head down, use his millions of $$ to buy TV ads and pray that people aren’t paying attention. Well guess what Bill, you’re in for the fight of your life, we’re on to ya!
