Red Oak Community School, an elementary school located in the Columbus area, will sponsor a story time for children, which will be hosted by two “drag queens.”
The event, which will take place on December 4, has been promoted to include children of all ages.
“Are you ready for a new family-friendly, LGBTQ+ holiday tradition? Come out to our outdoor Holi-drag Storytime! Local queens Mikayla Denise and reigning Miss District West- Bianca Debonair will read stories for children of ALL ages. Each ticket will come with a voucher for a free hot chocolate or hot apple cider and a candy cane!” the website to purchase tickets states.
“Ticket sales are live! We’re so excited for this amazing event! Hope to see you there!” the school added in a social media post promoting the event.

According to the school’s website, their mission is to prepare students “to be environmental stewards and champions of social justice” and fosters “students’ sense of their place and power in the natural world and in their communities.”
Similar events have caused controversies in the past.
Earlier this year, Brett Blomme, a judge who was connected to the Drag Queen Story Hour organization, was arrested on seven counts of child pornography possession.
“As the leaders of DQSH Milwaukee & DQSH HQ, we absolutely condemn pedophilia, We are angry and outraged by Brett’s actions,” DQSH Executive Director Jonathan Hamilt told Fox News. “Pedophilia has no place in the LGBT community and no place in society as a whole.”
“Drag Queen Story Hour is an organization dedicated to creating safe inclusive spaces for children and their families,” he continued. “All of our in-network drag storytellers are required to have background checks.”
