Former President Donald Trump on Thursday praised an effort by State Representative Timothy Ramthun (R-Campbellsport) to “decertify” Wisconsin’s 2020 election results.
Ramthun and Trump contest that a report from the Legislative Audit Bureau and allegations made by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department raise too many questions.
“Congratulations to Tim Ramthun, State Representative of Wisconsin, for putting forward a powerful and very popular, because it’s true, resolution to decertify the 2020 Presidential Election in Wisconsin based on the recently found absolute proof of large scale voter fraud that took place,” Trump said of the effort.
Trump also encouraged a state senator to cosponsor the resolution, asking “Which American Patriot from the State Senate will step forward?”
Citing the Legislative Audit Bureau report, there were 44,272 individuals who “previously voted by methods that required them to provide photo identification or did not have photo identification on file with the municipal clerk.”
Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling has recommended charges against five members of the Wisconsin Elections Commission for alleged violations of state election law.
According to Schmaling, eight residents of a nursing home facility did not have the capacity to vote, but cast ballots in the election.
“Therefore, I call upon the Wisconsin Legislature to recognize its duty under Article 2 Section 1 Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, as well as the guidance provided from ss6.84(1), to decertify Wisconsin’s November 2020 election results by reclaiming its ten electoral ballots,” said Rep. Ramthun.
“We can no longer delay with stall tactics, wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars, or the silence of the full legislative body. It falls upon us to take this historic action and answer the call for this injustice. It’s beyond time to work of, by, and for the people of Wisconsin.”
