Live from Music Row Thursday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed all-star panelist and The Epoch Times Senior Editor-at-Large Roger Simon in-studio to weigh in on Waverly D. Crenshaw’s injunction on the mask ban the Tennessee General Assembly passed during its special session.
Leahy: In studio with us all-star panelist, my good friend for many years now, I think 12 years. We first met 12 years ago.
Simon: Maybe more.
Leahy: My former boss. Yeah, it’s 2021 now, and we met in March of 2009. Twelve and a half years ago, we’ve been hanging out together, Roger.
We met in LA. You were running PJTV and had a little program there for a bit. But you saw the light. You’ve moved to Nashville, and Nashville has embraced you, I think.
Simon: (Laughs) Well, I’m here.
Leahy: Now Roger, it’s COVID, COVID, COVID. Rules and regulations. The Tennessee General Assembly met in special session, and they put together a very thoughtful bill, particularly as it relates to standards for schools, putting mask requirements together and what the science had to be, what the actual number of cases had to be for that to be, in effect.
Very thoughtful. But a hack federal judge appointed by Barack Obama with a long history of supporting Democratic candidates. His name is Waverly Crenshaw. Forty-eight hours after the governor signed a law that the Tennessee General Assembly went into special session to address he put an injunction staying the key element of the law about masks. Here’s our own Chris Butler with that report.

Leahy:Â Roger, I have the exact language from this two-page injunction from this political hack Waverly Crenshaw, the Obama appointed federal judge who handed this down 48 hours after the Tennessee General Assembly and the governor turned it into law.
This is all he said. Given the alleged conflict and possible confusion this law creates for schools in Tennessee, the party shall maintain the status quo as it pertains to students with disabilities and their federally guaranteed rights as of the day before, this law was signed into law in the state of Tennessee by Governor Bill Lee. Your thoughts, Roger.
Simon: What a scientific dope. This man does not know that those handkerchiefs that are forced over the mouths of children are bad for those kids. Secondly, they cannot keep a virus out of those cheesy little masks that you buy at the drugstore.
They can’t filter a virus. You need to have those kids in the heavy-duty N95 masks that are put on like a nurse in the ICU. But those kids aren’t wearing that. So what you’re doing is just wrecking the lives of the children.
That’s it. This nitwit, because of his Obamaesque bigotry, that’s what it is. Anybody who knows this man ought to go and tell him what for.
Leahy: Well, we’re telling them what for and we’re inviting them in. By the way, Judge Waverley Crenshaw. I guess they’re used to being treated with deference. And in the courtroom, they are because they are the arbiters in the courtroom.
We’re not in the courtroom right now. This is the courtroom of public opinion. And Judge Waverly Crenshaw, come on in and defend your indefensible overriding of the will of the people of the state of Tennessee. That’s my invitation to Judge Waverly Crenshaw.
Simon: These guys who think they know something about science, and don’t.
Leahy: You said something during the break that was quite interesting to me. I am a fan of the former New York Times science writer Alex Berenson. And you’ve seen him a lot on Tucker Carlson.
He covers in great detail the actual facts related to COVID-19. And you can imagine, since he covers the facts, he is absolutely in opposition to virtually every element of the Biden maladministration’s handling.
Simon: And hated by all the parties who are banned from Twitter forever and so forth. I quit Twitter. But I quit them before they banned me because they were deducted me 10,000 followers at a time. I said, I’m out of here.
Leahy: Have you gone on to, like, Parler or Gettr?
Simon: Yeah, I’m on those. But I wish none of this stuff existed frankly. It’s all brain pollution. (Laughter)
Leahy: I like that phrase. Alex Berenson and has written a couple of books that were ebooks that went up on Amazon and did very well about the pandemic.
He’s now got a real book. I don’t mean a real book, but he’s got a book published by a traditional publisher. Regnery Publishing.
Simon: Regnery Publishing. And I’m reading it right now.
Leahy: Roger. Roger.
Simon: I’m a tastemaker. Come on. (Leahy laughs) I’m going to write about it for the epic Science.
Leahy: So the book is called Pandemia.
Simon: Yes.
Leahy: And it’s how the government destroyed rights…
Simon: It’s a very extensive thing. I think what’s remarkable a guy could write a 400-page book in the midst of writing all this stuff for Substack that he’s been writing. I mean, I’m fairly energetic, but this guy’s beyond. He really is.
Leahy:Â And he’s on Tucker very often. He’s been on the Clay and Buck program here, which is on here from Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC. They’re on at 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Here on this very station. So he’s been on several times there hasn’t he?
Simon: Yes.
Leahy: I think he’s very good. The book is Pandemia. And you got an advanced copy of it and I didn’t. I actually subscribe. I pay him money to be on the Substack account.
Simon: It gives a lot of history of Fauci.
Leahy: Oh yeah.
Simon: There were a lot of things that I didn’t know dating back to his HIV work.
