Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk has officially endorsed Vice President JD Vance for president in the 2028 race, though he has not yet said whether he will run for the GOP nomination.
Kirk, has led TPUSA since her husband, Charlie Kirk, who founed the group, was assassinated in September. She made the endorsement during a speech Thursday at the organization’s America Fest conference in Phoenix, POLITICO reported.
“We are going to get my husband’s friend JD Vance elected for 48 in the most resounding way possible,” she said.
Vance is scheduled to speak at the conference on Sunday.
“My attitude is the American people elected me to be vice president,” he said in October. “I’m going to work as hard as I can to make the president successful over the next three years and three months, and if we get to a point where something else is in the offer, let’s handle it then.”
According to a November Rasmussen Reports poll, Vance is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination in the 2028 presidential election. The poll showed 62% of likely Republican primary voters would vote for the vice president. The next closest people were Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at 10% and Secretary of State Marco Rubio at 10%.
Rubio said this week he wouldn’t run for president if Vance decides to declare.
Trump has previously said the presidential ticket of Vance and Rubio would be hard to stop.
