Author and journalist Matt Walsh released an updated list of speakers who will be attending the ‘Rally to End Child Mutilation’ Friday at the Tennessee State Capitol.
As previously reported by The Tennessee Star, Walsh announced the rally to “end child mutilation, sterilization, and abuse in Tennessee hospitals and beyond” earlier this month after he broke the story on how Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) was caught providing transgender surgeries to minors.
Our rally against gender ideology madness and child mutilation is on Friday. Speakers include Senator Marsha Blackburn, Colin Wright, Scott Newgent and Chloe Cole. I’m excited to announce @TulsiGabbard will be speaking as well. The movement is growing.https://t.co/wtd8n6ela9 pic.twitter.com/JTd9iRBuoB

- Former Democrat Hawaii Congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard
- Tennessee U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)
- Majority Leader for the Tennessee House of Representatives William Lamberth (R-Portland)
- Tennessee State Senator Jack Johnson (R-Franklin)

- Evolutionary biologist Dr. Colin Wright
- Former Tennessee congressional candidate Robby Starbuck, along with his wife and founder of Freedom Forever, Landon Starbuck
- Founder of TReVoices Scott Newgent
- Self-described former ‘trans kid’ Chloe Cole
The rally is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. and will be held near the Tennessee State Capitol (War Memorial Plaza) in Nashville. The event is free to attend; however, those interested in going are encouraged to RSVP in order for organizers to estimate expected attendance.
Shortly after Walsh broke the story about VUMC performing transgender surgeries to minors, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee called for an investigation into the matter, saying in a statement, “The ‘pediatric transgender clinic’ at Vanderbilt University Medical Center raises serious moral, ethical and legal concerns. We should not allow permanent, life-altering decisions that hurt children or policies that suppress religious liberties, all for the purpose of financial gain. We have to protect Tennessee children, and this warrants a thorough investigation.”
Additionally, in a letter to Vanderbilt, 62 Tennessee state House members demanded the institution stop mutilating children.
This is a time in which elected leaders must boldly lead and speak on behalf of the people.
I’ve been joined by my esteemed @tnhousegop colleagues in formally requesting that Vanderbilt Medical halt all gender transition surgeries on minors.

On October 7, the university agreed to cease all such medical procedures, as reported by The Tennessee Star.
UPDATE: here is the letter Vanderbilt sent to state legislators. Notice the wording at the end. They promise to comply with whatever regulations are imposed. They’ve already conceded the legislative fight. This win is even bigger than we thought. pic.twitter.com/VkKhuiHTUO

Writing partially in a letter to State Representative Jason Zachary (R-Knoxville), VUMC’s Deputy CEO and Chief Health System Officer C. Wright Pinson said, “You have asked VUMC to permanently halt gender affirmation surgeries being performed on minor children. On September 6, 2022, [World Professional Association of Transgender Health] published a new version of its recommendations to health care professionals for treatment of transgender persons, known as SOC-8. In light of these new recommendations, and as part of completing our internal clinical review of SOC-8 guidance in patients under 18, we will be seeking advice from local and national clinic experts. We are pausing gender affirmation surgeries on patients under 18 while we complete this review, which may take several months.”
The letter also stated that if the general assembly bans transition surgeries for minors, the medical center plans to comply with the law.

If parents agree to their children’s request for a sex change, that I’m okay with that. It’s time the Republicans quit meddling in intimate family affairs!
Not if children are minors and can’t make the decisions for themselves. The parents may be liberal activists who don’t give a crap about their kids.
Gender “reassignment” of a minor is so totally immoral! A persons future is far from finalized before they are 21. Gender reassignment of minors only exists to satisfy the perverted mindset of the liberal parent(s). It should be made illegal at the national level.
Boycott , Divest, Sanction ,Vanderbilt!
Be wary of Tulsi. She may be the real deal but she needs to prove it by doing more than leaving the Democrat party and getting herself in the spotlight. Beware of enemies bearing gifts.
