Rep. Abe Hamadeh Asks Trump Administration to Rescind Biden’s ‘Political Weaponization’ Against Phoenix Police Department

Rep. Abe Hamadeh, phoenix Police Officer

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ-08) asked the Trump administration last Wednesday to rescind its report criticizing the Phoenix Police Department (PPD), which came about as a result of violent protesters complaining about  their interactions with officers. He sent a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel requesting a halt to the “desperate witch hunt,” which could end up putting the PPD in a consent decree with the federal government under monitoring. The Trump administration said in January that it is pausing all civil rights investigations into law enforcement agencies.

Hamadeh said in the letter, “Despite the Biden DOJ’s baseless claims, our officers did everything right, voluntarily cooperating in good faith, opening their records, and participating in lengthy interviews. They were met with stonewalling, mischaracterized testimony, and a final report riddled with glaring inaccuracies. The Biden DOJ’s claim that Phoenix Police Department officers violated constitutional standards during unrest following one of President Trump’s rallies was absurd. That claim is especially ludicrous because the Ninth Circuit affirmed that the department’s actions were lawful. The Biden DOJ ignored this and many other court-backed facts, choosing instead to cherry-pick narratives that support their political agenda.”

Rep. Tim Burchett Says ‘Big Boys Tried to Shut Me’ Down over Prediction DOGE Investigations Will Lead to Congress

Tim Burchett and Elon Musk

U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) on Friday said his comments about the potential for Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to find corruption in Congress led to political repercussions, including discussions over a primary challenger to run against him in 2026, which the Tennessee Republican said has already depressed his fundraising.

Burchett said during an appearance on the “Two Guys One Coup” podcast that Congress lacks “enough people with enough guts to impeach” the various federal judges behind rulings that “impede” President Donald Trump and his agenda, divulging that he faced repercussions for his various predictions that DOGE investigations would lead to Congress.

voting booth

Lawmakers in the Tennessee State House on Tuesday will consider legislation that would close primary elections in the Volunteer State to only registered members of a political party. The legislation would require voters to register as Republican or Democratic voters to be eligible to participate in a nominating contest for either party.

According to its legislative summary, House Bill (HB) 1159 by State Representative Susan Lynn (R-Mount Juliet) would require a prospective voter to designate an affiliation with a political party when registering to vote in Tennessee in order to vote in a primary election, which would effectively close the opportunity for unaffiliated voters to influence a party’s nominating contest in the state.

Judge Boasberg Allows Tren de Aragua Migrants to Appeal ‘Alien Enemies’ Deportations

Breitbart   Tren de Aragua migrants must be allowed to appeal their deportations ordered under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act, Judge James Boasberg ruled Monday. The ruling is likely to be appealed — in part, because President Donald Trump’s deputies say the judiciary has no role when the President invokes the 1798 act to deport aliens amid an invasion or a “predatory incursion” of the United States. “This is unconstitutional,” responded Stephen Miller, the President’s deputy chief of staff. Trump to Nominate Susan Monarez for CDC Director, Elevating from Acting Role, Sources Say

CBS News   President Trump has decided to pick Susan Monarez to be the new nominee to head the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, making permanent the acting role she has served at the public health agency in recent months. Monarez would be named in place of Dr. David Weldon, a former Florida congressman whose nomination was withdrawn by the White House earlier this month over concerns that he didn’t have the votes to clear the Senate confirmation process.  “As an incredible mother and dedicated public servant, Dr. Monarez understands the importance of protecting our children, our communities, and our future. Americans have lost confidence in the CDC due to political bias and disastrous mismanagement,” the president posted on Truth Social, announcing the pick Monday afternoon. FCC Threatens Blocking Media Mergers Based on DEI Policies

Axios   The Federal Communications Commission is threatening to block media mergers based on corporate DEI policies. This creates new layers of complexity and uncertainty for dealmakers, and reflects how the Trump administration is willing to pull novel levers to end what most CEOs viewed as sensible policies until two months ago. FCC chair Brendan Carr tells Bloomberg that he only can “approve a transaction if we find that doing so serves the public interest … If there’s businesses out there that are still promoting invidious forms of DEI discrimination, I really don’t see a path forward where the FCC could reach the conclusion that approving the transaction is going to be in the public interest.” READ THE FULL STORY

Distillery

As conservatives, it is critical that we seize this generational opportunity and strike while the iron is hot. While Elon Musk’s D.O.G.E. is leading the charge, the effort to rid government of wasteful spending is too vast for one small team, no matter how talented they may be.
