President Donald Trump on Tuesday appeared to call for the “unconditional surrender” of Iran while suggesting the U.S. was poised to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” he posted on Truth Social. In a seperate, previous post, he further sugggested the U.S. was prepared to kill Khamenei.

Los Angeles Mayor Lifts Downtown Curfew as Rioting Subsides

Los Angeles Democratic Mayor Karen Bass on Tuesday lifted a curfew on the city’s downtown that went into effect last week over riots in the city against federal immigration raids, citing successful crime prevention and suppression efforts.

Bass imposed the curfew exactly one week ago, which began at 8 p.m. local time, and expired at 6 a.m. local time. The curfew impacted a one-square mile radius and excluded residents in the area, homeless people, credentialed media and public safety and emergency personnel.

MTSU to ‘Scale Back’ DEI Programs amid Pressure from Trump Admin, General Assembly

Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is set to “scale back” its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), according to the university’s student newspaper Sidelines, which reported on Tuesday that an email explaining the changes was distributed by MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee. 

The email reportedly confirmed that the university’s “scholarships and faculty procedures” will be changed to comport with both executive orders signed by President Donald Trump, who has pledged to purge federal support for DEI in within the nation’s higher education system, as well as the law passed by the Tennessee General Assembly which prohibits awarding scholarships based on race, color, ethnicity, or national origin.

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence (AI) company, xAI, was notified of a forthcoming lawsuit by two activist groups which allege it violated federal law by operating natural gas turbines to power the company’s supercomputer. 

On behalf of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) on Tuesday provided xAI with the required statutory notice for them to bring a lawsuit under the Clean Air Act.

The Department of Homeland Security is reversing course on exempting farms and hotels from immigration raids, according to a report.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials told agency leaders in a call Monday that officers must continue conducting immigration raids at agricultural businesses, hotels, and restaurants, according to unnamed sources, The Washington Post reported. The call took place at 11 a.m. on Monday with representatives from 30 field offices across the country.

Brad Lander, NYC Comptroller and Mayoral Candidate, Arrested and Released by ICE Agents

CBS News   New York City Comptroller and Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested Tuesday by masked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at federal immigration court in Lower Manhattan.  A U.S. Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said Lander was arrested for assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer.  Lander was released several hours later. Massie, Democrats Move to Block U.S. Strikes on Iran

Politico   Rep. Thomas Massie said Tuesday he has filed a House resolution seeking to block U.S. involvement in the burgeoning conflict between Iran and Israel. Announcing the move on X, the Kentucky Republican said he is being joined by a coterie of Democratic co-sponsors led by Rep. Ro Khanna of California. The measure, filed pursuant to the War Powers Resolution of 1973, would block President Donald Trump from engaging in “unauthorized hostilities” with Iran. “This is not our war. Inmates Indicted in Riot at Tennessee’s Largest Prison

Twelve inmates at the Trousdale Turner Correctional Center (TTCC) received indictments from a grand jury for their alleged roles in a riot.

Earlier in June, a riot broke out at Tennessee’s largest prison. Three inmates and one prison guard obtained minor injuries. CoreCivic, the company that operates TTCC, said inmates wanted to damage property, tamper with security cameras, and set fires.

Congressman Andy Ogles Says House Now Probing Immigration Documents, Communications Submitted by Nashville Mayor

U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN-05) announced on Tuesday that the House Judiciary and Homeland Security Committees are now reviewing documents and communications submitted by Mayor Freddie O’Connell in response to the probe launched earlier this month over the mayor’s actions in response to a federal immigration enforcement operation that saw nearly 200 illegal immigrants detained last month.

Ogles launched the probe, demanding internal documents and communications from Metro Nashville, after The Tennessee Star reported O’Connell modified an executive order that mandates Metro employees report interactions with federal immigration officials to his office, and that he established a “Belonging Fund” to raise money for those impacted by enforcement.

Commentary: President Trump Moves to End the War on Coal

President Trump took two major steps this week to end the 14-year-old Democrat war against the coal industry and cheap electricity. Although greens have promised to sue, they are unlikely to succeed as the moves have pretty much been pre-approved by the Supreme Court.

First, EPA proposed to roll back all greenhouse gas emission standards for coal plants. The Obama EPA first issued climate emissions standards for coal plants in August 2015. These rules didn’t last long as they were stayed by the Supreme Court in February 2016.
