Tennesseans who live in one of the nine counties designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as Disaster Designated Areas following severe weather in April are being offered temporary payment relief on their loans and leases for Ford or Lincoln vehicles.
On Thursday, Ford Credit and Lincoln Automotive Financial Services announced a special relief program for customers in Tennessee who were affected by the severe weather events that spanned from April 2 through April 6 when a severe storm system resulting in a total of 19 tornadoes swept across the Volunteer State and left 10 dead across five counties.
The April storm system produced up to 15 inches of rain in some locations, resulting in severe flooding and flash flooding, as well as straight-line winds with gusts of up to 90 mph, causing significant property damage in several counties.
As a result, Ford Credit and Lincoln Automotive Financial Services are offering payment extensions of up to 60 days to eligible customers who live in areas eligible for FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program, which are currently Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Dyer, Hardeman, McNairy, Montgomery, Obion, and Wilson Counties.
Vehicle buyers can request payment extensions online at www.ford.com/finance or through the Ford Credit app. Lease customers and anyone who prefers to call must contact 1-800-723-4016.
The companies note that interest may still accrue during the payment extension period, even if payments are paused.
President Donald Trump approved Governor Bill Lee’s request for a Major Disaster Declaration for the severe weather in April earlier this month.
In addition to the nine counties approved to receive FEMA Individual Assistance, nineteen counties have been approved to receive FEMA Public Assistance.
The counties approved for FEMA Public Assistance include Cheatham, Davidson, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Grundy, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henry, Hickman, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Perry, Stewart, and Tipton.
