Tennessee’s film industry is set to receive a significant economic boost as a hit television show announced it will be filming in the state.

“9-1-1: Nashville,” an ABC show, made the announcement on Monday.

The show is expected to create more than 600 jobs.

Filming for “9-1-1: Nashville” will begin this summer and continue into early 2026.

The show’s filming will occur around Davidson County and Middle Tennessee.

In addition to creating these jobs, the entertainment project is expected to generate over $50 million in economic impact.

According to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) press release, the state’s entertainment and production industry generated nearly $10 billion in economic impact last year.

In making the announcement, Governor Bill Lee said Tennessee is known for its “artistic heritage.”

He stated this project “will create greater opportunity for highly skilled Tennesseans.”

“9-1-1: Nashville” Showrunner and Executive Producer Rashad Raisani said the show couldn’t “be more excited” to shoot in one of the “most vibrant and dynamic cities” in the world.

“Nashville is home to so many artistic, historic and cultural treasures, top-notch crew and some of the kindest human beings on the planet,” Raisani noted. “We are so grateful to the city and the entire state of Tennessee for welcoming us, and we look forward to sharing their wonderful community with our global audience.”

Tennessee Department of Tourist Development Mark Ezell explained this show will showcase the state’s cities as “must-visit destinations.”

“Shows with a Tennessee flavor boost our brand and keep us top of mind for travelers,” Ezell explained. “Every production filmed here helps remind the world that Tennessee is full of stories and experiences just waiting to be explored.”

TNECD Commissioner Stuart McWhorter stated the state’s entertainment and music industries “play an integral role” in Tennessee’s economy.

“With the birthplace of country music in Bristol and the home of blues and rock ‘n’ roll in Memphis, Tennessee has historically been a melting pot for creatives, and we are proud to see the continued economic growth and additional jobs this new series will bring to the Nashville community and our state,” he said.
