Candace Owens Sued for Defamation in Tennessee Federal Court by Owner of Private Security Firm Used by Charlie Kirk

Candace Owens

A federal lawsuit was filed last Thursday against controversial influencer Candace Owens, as well as her podcast guest Mitchell Snow, alleging in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee that both conspired to spread a fabricated story claiming Charlie Kirk was assassinated as a result of a conspiracy that involved the owner of the security company hired to protect him.

Brian Harpole, who owns the private security firm Integrity Security Solutions, specifically alleges in his lawsuit that Owens, her companies, Candace Owens LLC and GeorgeTom, Inc., and Snow, coordinated to repeatedly publish false statements about Kirk’s assassination, even after receiving flight information that purportedly proves Harpole could not have participated in the conspiratorial meeting described by Snow.

Democrat Rep. Parrots James Comey, Posts ’86 47′

Ted Lieu

Democratic California Rep. Ted Lieu posted “86 47” on his X account Sunday, mimicking an alleged threat to assassinate President Donald Trump that former FBI Director James Comey was indicted for posting previously.

A federal grand jury indicted Comey Tuesday on charges of threatening to assassinate Trump over a May 2025 Instagram post which depicted seashells saying “8647,” a phrase interpreted by Trump supporters as calling for the president’s assassination. Lieu, whose district includes Torrance, California, where Trump’s accused would-be assassin Cole Allen resided, posted a response to a clip of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s appearance on “Meet the Press” that included the term, a message parroted by leftists during Friday protests.

Pirro Abandons Plan to Appeal Powell Subpoenas in Fed Investigation

BREAKING NEWS

CNBC   U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro on Monday asked a federal judge to vacate his decisions blocking aspects of her criminal investigation into the Federal Reserve under Chair Jerome Powell. Pirro’s motion effectively walks back an often-repeated plan to appeal the judge’s rulings to a higher court. That ends, for the time being, the threat that Powell could be forced to turn over evidence to Pirro. Still, it is unlikely to provide the Fed chair the certainty he wants that the legal threat against him and the central bank have dissipated. He has said he will remain on the Fed’s board indefinitely after his term as chair expires later this month. Pirro has been investigating cost overruns in the Fed’s ongoing building renovations and related testimony to Congress by Powell. Chief Judge James Boasberg of the District of Columbia in March quashed Pirro’s subpoenas to the Fed saying she hadn’t provided evidence of wrongdoing sufficient to counter the appearance that President Donald Trump wanted to put political pressure on Powell to cut interest rates. He upheld that ruling in April. READ THE FULL STORY

Ukraine Witness Helped with 2016 and 2020 Assessments on Russian Meddling – Now He Is Backpedaling

Gavin Wilde

A key witness in the U.S. intelligence community’s assessments on Russian meddling into the 2016 and 2020 U.S. elections and Congress’ attempt to impeach President Trump for purportedly pressuring Ukraine to help him win the first race is now backpedaling from the roles he played.

Gavin Wilde, who now works at think tanks in the nation’s capital, co-authored the flawed January 2017 intelligence community assessment on Russian meddling in the 2016 election prior to serving on the Trump National Security Council in 2018 and 2019. Legal Analyst: Supreme Court Ruling Signals Restoration of Original Meaning of Voting Rights Law

Supreme Court justices

Legal commentator and retired attorney Mark Pulliam said the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais is likely to upend decades of redistricting law and ultimately shift congressional power by allowing states to revisit race-based districting under the Voting Rights Act.

Last week, the Court opened the door for states to redraw racially gerrymandered districts after ruling 6-3 that Louisiana’s revised congressional map, which was designed to create a second majority-black district, constituted an unconstitutional racial gerrymander.

Business Lawyers meeting

Braden Boucek, the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, on Friday joined other Department of Justice (DOJ) officials in response to the Tennessee Supreme Court request for public comment regarding the role of the American Bar Association (ABA) plays in offering accreditation for law schools in Tennessee.

“The ABA behaves like a cartel,” wrote Boucek in a Friday post to social media. He added, “instead of insisting on excellence, the ABA insists on conformity with narrow political ideologies,” which often overlap with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
