Congressman John Rose Says ‘No Good Justification’ for FBI to Block Release of Covenant Killer Manifesto After Reviewing 2,000 Pages

Rep John Rose

U.S. Representative John Rose (R-TN-06) on Thursday said there is “no good justification” for the FBI to block the release of the writings left by Audrey Elizabeth Hale, the biological woman who identified as a transgender man when she attacked the Covenant School and killed six on March 27, 2023.

In a statement provided to The Tennessee Star, Rose announced that he was given access to “more than 2,000 pages” of documents from the FBI roughly two years after he contacted former FBI Director Christopher Wray to call for the documents to be released.

“What I saw would disturb anyone, especially a parent,” said Rose, calling the killer’s writings a “painful reminder of the devastation that victims, including their families and friends, endure every day,” before nonetheless arguing they should be released.

“Like many of you, I have long suspected some of this information was shielded from public view because this shooter considered herself to be transgender,” said Rose. “After having read through the evidence, I remain convinced that there is no good justification for keeping most of the evidence from the public square.”

Rose added, “No reasonable person would object to certain redactions, just as no reasonable person who believes in the First Amendment would condone the widespread censorship we saw from the Biden FBI, and frankly, Metro Nashville Police.”

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) released its final report on the Covenant killings earlier this year, when it stated that Hale was clinically sane at the time of her attack.

Rose disagreed with the MNPD assessment, stating, “The report from Metro Nashville, released about a month ago, calls the killer sane. I just read through about 2,000 pages of reasons why that is false.”

He also argued there is nothing within the killer’s writings to support the push for gun control seen in the days following the attack, when a special session of the Tennessee General Assembly was called for lawmakers to consider laws restricting the Second Amendment. Lawmakers ultimately passed no such laws.

Both Michael Patrick Leahy, the Editor-in-Chief of The Star, and its parent company, Star News Digital Media Inc., sued the FBI in May 2023 to compel it to release Hale’s writings. It continued to resist the full release of Hale’s writings into the Trump administration, though FBI Director Kash Patel previously argued it was his predecessor who blocked the release of such documents to the public.

Despite both MNPD and the FBI refusing to release the killer’s writings, The Star obtained Hale’s complete 2023 journal last year, and published the complete document in September 2024.

School shootings are always a preferred pretext for citizen disarmament, so anything that distracts from that agenda is to be ignored or shrouded in secrecy.

I assume that the release of these documents along with the mental health records would cast a really bad light on some high-profile folks. Therefore, the powers that be are attempting to protect those high-profile folks.

They don’t want to put TRANNIES in a bad light.

IMO it was blocked by the Biden admin as the killer was suffering from gender dysphoria, which as we all know was actually being pushed upon America by the Biden and his troop of marxists. Don’t hold your breath in anticipation of anyone being held accountable for not reporting this persons mental condition to the FBI NICS database.
