The Shelby County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (SCDSA) has endorsed U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) in the 2026 Tennessee gubernatorial race.

In a statement distributed Tuesday by Blackburn’s campaign, SCDSA President Mark Lowe said, “Today, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriffs’ Association is proud to officially endorse and support Marsha Blackburn for Governor of Tennessee.”

“Senator Blackburn has demonstrated strong leadership, a true commitment to public safety, and unwavering support for law enforcement officers and the citizens of Shelby County,” Lowe added.

Blackburn said she was “deeply grateful” to have received the organization’s support in her mission to “make Tennessee America’s conservative leader.”

“The Shelby County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association is made up of some of the bravest and most dedicated men and women in Tennessee. Every day, they put their lives on the line for our communities and have played a critical role in making Shelby County and Memphis safer once again. These are the heroes on the front lines, working tirelessly to restore law and order, clean up our streets, and put public safety first,” Blackburn added.

The SCDSA is an organization representing deputy sheriffs and law enforcement personnel with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, advocating for professionalism, improved working conditions, public safety, and the welfare of its members and their families, according to its website.

In March, the Shelby County Suburban Mayors Council – including Germantown Mayor Mike Palazzolo, Lakeland Mayor Josh Roman, Collierville Mayor Maureen Fraser, Bartlett Mayor David Parsons, Arlington Mayor Mike Wissman, and Millington Mayor Larry Dagen – also endorsed Blackburn for Tennessee governor, citing her leadership on public safety and the success of the Memphis Safe Task Force.

Blackburn was also recently endorsed by the Tennessee Professional Fire Fighters Association in her bid for governor.
