House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA-04) on Monday will join Matt Van Epps, the Trump-endorsed Republican candidate to represent Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, for two get-out-the-vote rallies just held just one day before General Election voters head to the polls.
The Van Epps campaign announced on Friday that it will hold the first of two Monday rallies in Franklin, Tennessee, with the campaign set to open the doors of its event venue at 7:30 a.m. to host its event at 8 a.m. at an address to be provided to those who RSVP.
In addition to Johnson, the Van Epps campaign announced the candidate will be joined by Governor Bill Lee, U.S. Senators Bill Hagerty (R-TN) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), U.S. Representatives Tim Burchett (R-TN-02), Andy Ogles (R-TN-05), and John Rose (R-TN-06). Blackburn and Rose will notably both campaign for Van Epps despite both seeking the Republican nomination to become Tennessee’s next governor.
Van Epps’ second event on Monday will take place in Clarksville, and supporters are similarly invited to RSVP to receive the address. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., and the event starts at 5 p.m.
Guests at the second event also include a number of state and national Republican officials. In addition to Johnson, Van Epps will be joined by Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Joe Gruters, Tennessee Republican Party (TNGOP) chairman Scott Golden, and Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden.
It was also reported on Friday that President Donald Trump will hold a third tele-rally with Van Epps, who will be joined by Johnson, during the final day of campaigning.
After endorsing Van Epps ahead of the October primary contest, the president earlier this month described his Democratic opponent, State Representative Aftyn Behn (D-Nashville), as a “left wing lunatic,” who has “been called the AOC of Tennessee because of how radical left and dangerous her policies are.”
Behn is similarly set to receive support from national figures during the final day of campaigning, as she will be joined for a virtual rally by U.S. Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY-14) and Pramila Jayapal (D-WA-07), as well as former Vice President Al Gore, for a final event before the election.
