Data: ICE Deported Fewer than 40,000 Illegals Between October and Late February

Police ICE

At first blush the Trump administration’s deportation numbers reflect an unparalleled effort to remove vast numbers of illegal immigrants. However, internal data — and the delayed release of the administration’s annual enforcement report — tells a more complicated story.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted slightly over 35,500 deportations from Oct. 1, 2025 to late February, according to internal figures obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. Unlike publicly available figures that conflate deportation with border turnarounds and voluntary departures, the internal data only pertains to deportations of foreigners under an order of removal by an immigration judge.

Supreme Court Unanimously Backs Immigration Agencies in Row over ‘Persecution’ Standards

SCOTUS

The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled unanimously that immigration courts must defer to executive agencies on key findings of fact during certain immigration proceedings, handing a modest, procedural win to the Trump administration.

Justice Kentanji Brown Jackson, writing for the entire court, said “[w]e granted certiorari to determine whether the Court of Appeals applied the appropriate standard of review under the INA. We conclude that the statute requires application of the substantial-evidence standard to the agency’s conclusion that a given set of undisputed facts does not constitution persecution. According, we affirm.”

Reports Claim U.S. Arming Kurds to Fight Iran

BREAKING NEWS

Breitbart   Several media outlets in the U.S. and Israel have reported that the U.S. has asked the Iranian Kurds to join the fight against the regime in Tehran, potentially neutralizing security forces in western Iran and paving the way for another popular uprising. CNN on Tuesday cited “multiple people familiar with the plan” who said the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is “working to arm Kurdish forces with the aim of fomenting a popular uprising in Iran.” A senior Iranian Kurdish official told CNN the plan is fairly advanced, and the Kurds could begin a ground operation “in the coming days,” emboldened by their belief that they have a “big chance” to topple a regime crippled by devastating U.S. and Israeli airstrikes. Senate Rejects Attempt to Rein in Trump’s Power to Wage War on Iran

BREAKING NEWS

CBS News   The Senate defeated a war powers resolution that sought to block President Trump from using further military force against Iran, rejecting a Democratic push to rebuke the president amid the administration’s shifting justifications for the war and warnings about more American casualties to come. In a 47 to 53 vote, the resolution fell short of the simple majority it needed to advance. With Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania voting against the measure, it needed the support of at least five Republicans. Only GOP Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky supported it. It’s the second time in less than a year that Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia forced a vote on a war powers resolution related to Iran. The upper chamber voted down a similar effort in June 2025, after the U.S. bombed three Iranian nuclear sites. READ THE FULL STORY

Commentary: Trump’s Way of War

Trump situation room

War is the use of arms to settle differences—tribal, political, religious, cultural, and material—between organized groups. It is unchanging. The general laws of armed conflict stays immutable, given the constancy of human nature.

However, the manner in which war is conducted remains fluid. New weapons, tactics, and strategies elicit counterresponses in an endless cycle of tensions between defensive and offensive superiority.
