Advocacy Group Claims 35,000 Veterans, Military Families Now Oppose PBM Bill

military pharmacy

The Special Operations Association of America (SOAA) on Friday claimed 35,000 veterans have joined the group’s efforts to oppose Tennessee’s legislation that would prohibit vertical integration of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), the third-party companies that negotiate pharmacy benefits and drug prices with insurance companies.

According to SOAA, many of the 440,000 veterans who live in Tennessee and use TRICARE, the federal health system for active military, veterans, and their families, would no longer receive their prescription drugs in the mail if the legislation passes. The pharmacy used by TRICARE would reportedly be among those forced to close or divest their operations in Tennessee.

While an attorney representing Rodriguez Flores previously described the G-56 letter sent to his client on January 8 as an “invitation” to visit an ICE office, and in their filing her legal team stated that Rodriguez Flores was asked to, “[p]lease come to the ICE field office” for “processing and additional information,” the complete version of the letter included as part of her habeas corpus petition reveals she was instructed to visit in order to receive a Notice to Appear.

people voting

The top Justice Department prosecutor for civil liberties and voting rights tells Just the News that her ongoing review of state voter rolls has proven tens of thousands of noncitizens made it into a position to cast ballots and that hundreds of thousands of dead or departed residents were not properly removed from state election systems.

“It’s really frustrating that we’re being prevented from doing our job,” Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon said Tuesday night, criticizing state election offices and federal judges who are blocking her office from her historic effort to obtain and review every state’s voter roll ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Hawley Introduces Bill to Remove FDA Approval for Mifepristone

BREAKING NEWS

The Hill   Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) on Wednesday unveiled legislation to remove Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for the use of mifepristone to end pregnancies, a bill that has quickly gained the support of major anti-abortion groups. The legislation is an ambitious undertaking given the drug’s widespread use in the United States, where an estimated 7.5 million women have used it to terminate pregnancies since the FDA approved its use in 2000. It accounted for 63 percent of all abortions in the U.S. in 2023. But mifepristone, which when combined with the drug misoprostol can end pregnancies at up to 70 days of gestation, has become a major target of the anti-abortion movement. President Trump has sought to satisfy those anti-abortion voices by launching an FDA review of the drug, which has not been completed. READ THE FULL STORY

Trump Administration Asks Supreme Court to Let It End Deportation Protections for 350,000 Haitians

BREAKING NEWS

CBS News   The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Wednesday to clear the way for it to end temporary deportation protections for more than 350,000 Haitian immigrants. The bid for emergency relief from the Justice Department is the latest arising out of the Department of Homeland Security’s efforts to end Temporary Protected Status for a host of countries, putting immigrants from those places at risk of deportation. The Supreme Court has so far allowed the Trump administration to roll back protections for Venezuelan migrants, and a request involving Syrian immigrants is awaiting action from the high court. Haitians were first granted Temporary Protected Status in 2010 because of “extraordinary and temporary conditions” following a catastrophic earthquake that left more than 300,000 people dead and devastated the country. Commentary: The Left Couldn’t Beat Us at the Ballot Box, So They Went to Court

Judge rules in court

Right now, while you’re reading this, left-wing activist groups are using a Tennessee law to dismantle every conservative policy victory that our state has achieved in the last decade. They’re doing it in courtrooms because they can’t win at the ballot box. And the worst part? We never saw it coming. I have spent years advocating for conservative legislation, organizing grassroots conservatives, and working with the conservative supermajority that passed these laws. What I’m about to tell you should make every one of us angry: a single Tennessee law has become the most powerful weapon that the radical left has ever had against conservative governance in this state. It’s called TCA § 1-3-121.
