A recent NBC Poll found that President Donald Trump enjoys a staggering 100% approval rating among self-identified MAGA Republicans, with 0% disapproving. CNN Chief Data Analyst Harry Enten featured the eye-catching figure during an appearance on the network’s CNN News Central program Wednesday night.
Enten described the poll finding as one that “jumps off the screen,” adding, “You don’t have to be a mathematical genius to know you can’t go higher than 100%.”
“He is the 1972 Miami Dolphins,” Enten added, referencing the only team in NFL history to complete an undefeated season and go on to win the Super Bowl.
There's no break in MAGA. Trump's approval with MAGA GOP is literally 100%.
90% of MAGA GOP approve of US military action in Iran.
Those who disapprove of Trump are not MAGA at this point.
Importantly: MAGA makes up the same share of voters as it did when Trump won in 2024. pic.twitter.com/LqMRHm8t1B

The analyst stressed that while some Republicans express disapproval of Trump, “they are not members of the Make America Great Again movement.” Enten concluded, “The bottom line is this: if you are a member of MAGA, you approve of Donald Trump.”
The segment pushed back on mainstream media narratives of potential fractures in the MAGA coalition, particularly amid ongoing U.S. military involvement in Iran and related debates.
NBC News, however, framed its coverage of the poll around challenges for President Trump. Its March 8 headline declared: “Trump struggles on immigration, prices and Iran as Democrats hold a midterm edge.” The network conducted the poll from February 27 to March 3 among 1,000 registered voters.
It was within the poll’s crosstabs, though, that CNN data analyst spotted a dramatically different story. Enten noted that the MAGA share within the GOP is “not shrinking” and is actually “slightly larger” than during the 2024 election cycle. The poll also showed about 30% of registered voters now identify as MAGA, up slightly from 28% in November 2024.
Among voters who identify as part of the Make America Great Again movement (roughly 30% of the sample, slightly larger than in 2024), Trump recorded a unanimous approval rating with zero disapproval.
The clip went viral online, amplified by shares from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and various commentators, with reactions ranging from celebration of the loyalty to skepticism about the subgroup’s sample size and its broader implications.
This ironclad support from his core base persists amid what has become one of the most negative media environments in presidential history. A Media Research Center study of ABC, CBS, and NBC evening news coverage during the opening months of Trump’s second term found it was 92% negative, continuing the pattern of overwhelmingly hostile press treatment demonstrated throughout much of his first term.
